Baeble Music caught last night’s Har Mar Superstar show and took this awesome photo. For some context, here’s an excerpt from Matt Howard’s review:
Har Mar ascended the stage at around 12:30am dressed in an Egyptian-looking poncho with a liter of Jagermeister held under his arm, which means I am quite exhausted and still nursing a bit of a hangover. In between songs, he reminded us that he’s the greatest ever, but we already knew this much.
Here’s Vermont folk artist Sam Amidon playing two songs from his new album, Bright Sunny South for Australia’s ABC Radio National. Grab your tickets now for Amidon’s LPR show this Thursday!
Har Mar Superstar plays LPR tomorrow night, hot off the release of his new album Bye Bye 17. Here’s his description of the lead track, “Lady, You Shot Me,” which you can listen to above, via Spinner:
‘Lady, You Shot Me’ were the last four words to come out of Sam Cooke’s mouth upon being shot in a motel lobby in 1964. He has been a huge inspiration to me my entire life and particularly when I sat down to write this record. This song was written in New York City in October of 2011. I channeled New York winter, my own personal heartache and the horror Cooke must have experienced as he was pierced by a bullet. I wrote ‘LYSM’ on an acoustic guitar by myself between 4 and 6AM, my most emotionally vulnerable hours.
