After a little geocaching along the Gowanus Canal Avi Avital returned to Red Hook Bait and Tackle with the Geocachers crew to perform Bach’s Cello Suite no. 1: Prelude on mandola. Ever heard Bach played in a noisy bar? No? You, sir, have not lived.

One of our favorite mandolinists plays a little Bach in a bar. Just the kind of thing we really like.

We’ve got some great shows happening at LPR tonight, and lucky for you out-of-towners, we’re streaming both shows live online tonight. 

At 7:30pm we’ll be streaming a performance by virtuosic Israeli mandolinist Avi Avital, who will be performing works by Bach, Vivaldi, and Kuwahara.

Then at 10:30pm we’ll be streaming the cd release party for the undefinable Russian avant-garde jazz ensemble Auktyon. You can watch both of these streams right here, or head over to our Concert Window channel to watch the show and participate in the live chat.
